Frosch String Quartet was established in 2007 in Sofia. He started his concert activity with annual participation in the series of concerts of the Bulgarian National Radio Soloists on the radio. There are realized sound recordings for the fund of the Bulgarian National Radio of works by P. Vladigerov, K. Iliev, V. Kazandjiev, M. Georgiev, P. Kerkelov, Dm. Shostakovich, F. Schubert, H. Wolf, A. Schoenberg, A. Webern, B. Bartok, O. Respighi. The ensemble participates in the festivals Winter Music Evenings - Ruse, Ambul - Sofia, Sound and Communication - Sofia, Sofia Music Weeks, MF March Music Days - Ruse, Chamber Music Days - Gabrovo, Apollonia, Ars Musica Festival - Brussels, IMF Varna Summer, Winter musical evenings Prof. Ivan Spasov - Pazardzhik.
In April 2008, the quartet received second prize at the International Austrian Chamber Music Competition in Sofia. In the same year, Frosh won the first prize at the Academic Chamber Music Competition, dedicated to Marin Goleminov. The quartet is a laureate of the Crystal Lyre Award in 2015 in the Chamber Ensembles category, and in 2018 received the Golden Quartet Award for High Artistic Achievement in the name of M. Goleminov.
The quartet has a number of Bulgarian and world premieres of works by George Crumb, H. Guretski, Jan Grossman, Osvaldo Golihov, Steve Reich, Terry Riley, Rumen Balozov, Alexander Radvilovich, Lubomir Denev, Vasil Kazandjiev, Georgi Arnaudov, Sunne Skouen, Petr Martin Georgiev, V. Dikov, Dragomir Yosifov, as part of the works are specially written for the ensemble.
Among the big projects of the quartet are a concert at the Oslo Concert House, dedicated to Bulgarian and Norwegian contemporary music, as well as participation in the first edition of the festival Musica Nordica - Sofia. Frosch is also working on a sound recording of the integral of 4 string quartets by K. Iliev for the Bulgarian National Radio.
On November 1, 2017, Frosch has the honor to perform the opening concert of New Bulgarian Music from the joint program of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute and the Tchaikovsky Museum in Moscow. In the period January - June 2018 the quartet participated in the project of the Sofia Philharmonic Music of Europe with two concerts dedicated to the Czech Republic and Great Britain.
